Top notch repair, replacement and installation service for all type of electrical motion sensor or PIR fittings
Security lighting is one of the simplest way to improve the security of your property. Many buildings are fitted with security lights due to their simple nature and relative ease of installation and maintenance. Many doorways are lit with entry lights which activate as a person approaches.
Security lights are usually fitted beyond the reach of possible intruders, for their own security! They are usually of a different type than regular household lighting and much brighter to illuminate a wide area and ward off unwanted visitors. This means that when the security light does develop a fault that it can be tricky to choose the right replacement bulb, tube, lamp or sensor. It can be deliberately difficult or even dangerous to access the security light without the proper equipment and tools.

There are numerous triggers for active security lamps including passive infra red (PIR) which are often referred to as motion sensors. There are also security lights activated by breaking a laser beam or they are sometimes linked in to a burglar or intruder alarm so they turn on when the alarm sounds or a CCTV installation so the cameras start recording when the light is activated. Modern security lighting can now also be energy saving with the introduction of LED lighting to replace some of the older less efficient varieties..
Security lights should have a photosensor, photoelectric sensor or photocell which detects the light level and determines whether or not the light should be activated, so they should not turn on in the daytime when natural light levels are high. In fact some floodlights and floodlighting usually covering larger outdoor spaces such as car parks, driveways or other vulnerable areas, are designed to come on in the evening when it gets dark and stay lit until it becomes lighter again in the morning.
This all leaves a lot to go wrong of course and when it does go wrong, due to the complications in repairing them, the security lights are often left disabled and broken with owners being unable to repair them or unwilling to attempt access to repair them. There was a good reason though for installing the security lighting so it is not a good idea to leave them broken and in need of repair.
Routine maintenance is a useful tool to prevent unforeseen failures so ask about the service we can offer for you. When there are difficulties though you need look no further.
